SEATTLE (AP) — For most of the past 10 years Jawaan Taylor Jersey , Richard Sherman and Doug Baldwin were inseparable. College teammates at Stanford. Pros together in Seattle. in the pros was going to be noteworthy, no matter how much Sherman tried to downplay the significance before and after.“It was just a regular game. It’s just unfortunate we couldn’t have played as well as we could have. Had too many turnovers, gave up too many plays. That’s football and that’s the way things have gone this season,” Sherman said. The subplot to Sunday’s 43-16 win by the Seattle Seahawks over the San Francisco 49ers was the return of Sherman to the city where he went from an overlooked fifth-round draft pick into becoming one of the elite cornerbacks in the NFL and a Super Bowl champion. He was a beloved star in Seattle, whose career with the Seahawks abruptly ended last March when he was released coming off an Achilles injury that ended his 2017 season early. He left Seattle, found a new home in San Francisco and knew doing so would mean twice a year seeing his former team. The first reunion was going to be the most awkward, but for the most part it went smoothly. Sherman tried to disassociate himself from the hype surrounding the game, while his former teammates — especially Baldwin — spoke emotionally about missing their friend and now opponent.Bobby Wagner seemed to be the only one that wanted to have a little fun with the situation, saying he was looking for Sherman on the sideline during his 98-yard interception return in the fourth quarter which led to a little trash talking postgame.“He was just telling me that I was slow. I was telling him if I’m slow then what does that say about his team? We were just talking trash,” Wagner said. “That’s my brother, it was an amazing time for us to play with each other and to see him on the opposite side in the other jersey — that he looks ugly in — was cool.”Sherman went through his normal pregame routine that included finding Baldwin and briefly throwing a ball back and forth as they did in Seattle. He spent several minutes talking with Baldwin while also giving a quick handshake and hug to Russell Wilson and speaking with several other Seahawks players and staff. When the game started, it was mostly a quiet day for the cornerback. Seattle didn’t throw much and the first time Wilson threw his way was the third quarter when Baldwin slipped free from Sherman’s tackle attempt for a 21-yard gain. He also saw Jaron Brown break free from coverage for an 18-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter when the game was already out of hand.Afterward, he made certain to exchange jerseys with Baldwin on the field.“I’m not that emotional of a person when it comes to stuff like that Josh Oliver Jersey ,” Sherman said. “We’re obviously good friends and obviously we don’t see each other during the season. We’re going to see each other during the offseason. So it was good seeing him, good seeing his face and get to have a conversation.”Sherman said he wasn’t paying attention when Seattle’s wide receivers recreated his famous tip play from the 2013 NFC championship game when he deflected an end zone pass by Colin Kaepernick late in the fourth quarter into the arms of Malcolm Smith. The recreation was part of Seattle’s ongoing touchdown celebrations by its wide receivers and was the one Baldwin specifically wanted to do. It just happened to come in the same end zone as the original play — just this time with Baldwin in the role of Sherman in the reenactment.“He didn’t even know. I wanted it to be a surprise,” Baldwin said. “He knows it’s a tribute and he knows how the guys on this side of the ball feel. He knows how much we love him and how much we miss him.” THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles receiver Cooper Kupp is out for the season after tearing a ligament in his left knee, depriving the Rams‘ offense of a major contributor heading into a showdown with Kansas City.Coach Sean McVay on Monday confirmed the ACL injury for Kupp, who led the Rams in yards receiving last season. Kupp is likely to have surgery this week.“It’s a huge loss for our football team,” McVay said. “He’s such an important part of what we do, and a great football player, great person. It’s tough, but fortunately we’ve got guys that are ready to step up.”Kupp has 40 catches for 566 yards and six touchdowns this season, providing reliable hands in the slot and a knack for big catches. The former third-round pick from Eastern Washington has been a key contributor to McVay’s high-octane passing offense in both of his NFL seasons. His absence will be felt right away by the Rams (9-1), who will be without one of Jared Goff’s most familiar targets when they face the Chiefs (9-1) in Mexico City next Monday night in one of the biggest games of the NFL’s regular season.“He’s been a valuable piece of our team, and a guy we’ll miss Deandre Baker Jersey ,” Goff said. “He’s a tough guy (with) a tough family, and I know he’ll come out stronger through it all.”Kupp was hurt on a play with minimal contact Sunday in in the fourth quarter of the Rams’ 36-31 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. An MRI exam confirmed a torn ligament for Kupp, who already missed two games last month with a sprained left knee after going down awkwardly on a horse-collar tackle by Darian Stewart in Denver.McVay is optimistic about the Rams’ ability to fill Kupp’s role with a mix of receivers.Robert Woods, who leads the Rams with 55 catches, is likely to play more frequently in the slot. Fellow starter Brandin Cooks, who leads LA with 857 yards receiving, is likely to get more balls thrown his way after catching a season-high 10 passes against the Seahawks. And second-year backup Josh Reynolds is certain to get more playing time, particularly against the Chiefs.“Josh Reynolds has definitely demonstrated he’s more than capable,” McVay said. “He is a starting-caliber player, and that’s what we’ll do moving forward.”Reynolds has just seven catches this season and just 18 receptions in his 26 career games, but the former Texas A&M star has earned the Los Angeles offense’s trust while filling in for Kupp earlier this season. At 6-foot-3, he also provides a different size matchup on the outside compared to the smaller Cooks and Woods.“I was sorry to hear about (Kupp) like everybody else,” Reynolds said. “I’m just doing my best to fill in there.”The Rams also could get receiver Pharoh Cooper back in their lineup soon. Last season’s Pro Bowl kick returner has been sidelined since the season opener with an ankle injury http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/oshane-ximines-jersey , but McVay indicated the Rams are likely to make a decision this week on activating Cooper from injured reserve.“He would physically be able to play right now,” McVay said. “In terms of if we decide to activate him back, those are a couple things that we have to talk through.”The Rams have been largely healthy this season, with a few glaring exceptions. Along with Kupp’s struggles and Cooper’s season-long absence, Los Angeles has been without cornerback Aqib Talib for the past seven games due to an ankle injury that required surgery.Talib said Monday that he still hopes to return when the Rams face Detroit on Dec. 2 in their first game back from their bye week.Talib also praised his replacements in the secondary and had encouraging words for fellow starter Marcus Peters, who criticized himself after last week’s loss to New Orleans.“That’s just part of playing DB,” Talib said. “I only know one DB who was like perfect all the time, and that’s Prime (Deion Sanders). You’re going to go through those stretches, but that’s why we’ve got short memories. That’s why we play the toughest position on the field.”
